One of Ghana's renowned actresses, Ama K. Abebrese has appaulded the Black Stars for trying their best at the ongoing World Cup tournament hosted in Qatar despite losing the final group match against Uruguay.
The actress in a Twiiter post said she is very proud of the Black Star players even though they didn't make it to the next stage of the tournament.
"The Ghana Black Stars did well. Regardless of everything, I’m proud of Ghana."
The Black Stars team needed draw or win in their last group game to advance to the next stage of the tournament but results didn't go as expected following their 2-0 defeat against rivals (Uruguay).
The Black Stars were playing a revenge match against the Uruguayans after suffering a defeat at the 2010 World Cup hosted in South Africa.
The Ghanaian team was awarded a penalty in the early minutes of the game but captain of the side Dede Ayew missed it and that caused the team to lose focus on the match and that gave the Uruguayans the advantage to put the ball in our net twice.
Unfortunately for the Uruguay team, they couldn't make it to the next stage of the tournament after South Korea beat Portugal 2-1.
Portugal and South Korea qualify to the next stage after topping Group H.
On the other side, GH One TV broadcast journalist, Serwaa Amihere has warned Black Star captain Andre Dede Ayew to continue his stay in Qatar after he missed a penalty awarded to the team.
The broadcast journalist shared her disappointment via Twitter saying:
"Dede Ayew should stay in Qatar."
"Are you kidding me? He looked too relaxed for that penalty." She added in another tweet.
Many have criticized Dede Ayew for missing the penalty while others have mocked the him for forcefully taking the 'blaming' baton from former Black Star captain Asamoah Gyan.
Asamoah Gyan missed a crucial penalty at the dying minutes of Ghana's game against Uruguay at the quarter-finals stage at the 2010 World Cup held in South Africa.
