Ghanaian songwriter, singer, record producer, and three-time Grammy award nominee Rocky Dawuni cries out about how event organizers have refused to book him for shows despite attaining international recognition.
Speaking on Nhyria FM in Kumasi, Rocky expressed that he believes the event organizers who have refused to book him lack some funds to pay him.
“It has nothing to do with money,” Rocky said.
“Someone asked the same question, and I told them I have no control over whether or not the event organizer will book me.”
"I don’t have any power over that. But we should ask any event planner why Rocky Dawuni isn’t booked for events even though he’s been nominated for Grammys three times."
Rocky Dawuni is a UN Goodwill Ambassador for the Environment for Africa, under the UN Foundation Ambassador for the Clean Cooking Alliance.
He is also a Global Ambassador for the World Day of African and Afrodescendant Culture.
