Young and energetic rapper, Kwesi Arthur has expressed his interest in working with highlife maestro Kojo Antwi.
According to Kwesi, he grew up listening to Kojo Antwi often. Speaking on GTV's morning show he said;
“My auntie had a Kojo Antwi CD. And I went to go take it from her room, and I played that over and over.”
He continued to say that, Kojo Antwi’s songs caught his attention due to his instrumentals and melodies.
“His compositions, how his instrumentals sounded, the words he used, and his melodies were really heartfelt.”
"Kojo Antwi has power over his music, and I admire that about him." He added.
"My uncle used to play hip-hop music, but I was not really into it because I was rather into African music.
“I was usually into African music. You know, VIP, P Square, 2 Face, TIC Tac..”
Kwesi also mentioned that he is scared of being judged by the public because of the fame he has as an artist and that has been one of his challenges since starting his music career.
“Being in the public light, like everyone seeing what you do, everyone trying to judge your moves, yeah, I feel that’s a big challenge. Sometimes it gets like that, but I feel like it comes with the job I do so, I just have to swallow the pill it comes with.”
Sharing some of the surprises he has encountered in his music career, Kwesi Arthur stated that;
“there’s a lot of lies; a lot of smoke screens”.
“It’s like a lot of CAP; a lot of lies like a lot of smoked screens. Things people put out are not what it is.”
“There was this pornography video going about, people were saying it was me, but it wasn’t actually me. But the way the person took the video, degraded the quality of the video so you couldn’t really tell and the guy had dreads like me.
"Even when the original high-quality video was put out and you could clearly tell it’s not me, people were still saying oh it’s me, it’s me,” He said.
