More effort needs to be fueled into the right institutions to push the music business to a fertile ground – M.anifest

One of Ghana's rappers, M.anifest has shared his concerns about how the Ghanaian music industry is not well equipped to support the development of artists.

Speaking on Daybreak Hitz on Hitz FM, hosted by Doreen Avio, the rapper insisted that artists and creative arts persons are evolving speedily when compared to institutions and they need the right infrastructures for ideal growth.

“So constantly the thing that is making it possible for us to be global is if by the stroke of luck, your artistry which has evolved so much, catches on, whether on TikTok or wherever.”

“It is because of individual exceptionalism artistically that you are seeing some of these things.”

According to M.anifest, more effort needs to be fueled into the right institutions to push the music business to a fertile ground for vibrant musicians across Ghana to thrive.

And looking at things critically, most artists have become their own event promoters and tour stewards.

“So there is a scarcity on the opposite side. There is a scarcity of infrastructure, institutions, and resources to draw from.”

“I can’t argue that the industry as it now is positioned to take the most promising individuals from local to global,” M.anifest stressed.
