Ghanaian rapper Kweku Darlington has cautioned his fellow artists to remain focused on releasing timeless songs without relying too much on industry who have promised to push them to the top.
“I don’t want to imply that I don’t care about the structures or anything like that, but I also don’t want to invest my energy in them. All I want to do is what I do.”
“Since I’m not dependent on anything to make me famous, I don’t really want to think about the structures. I’ve learned that in this business if you succeed without all of these qualities, you’ll be in it forever.”
When asked why he cautioned his colleagues, he said some of his fellows are too dependent on industry players when comes to pushing them to the top and when they are not able to achieve what they want get disappointed.
Sharing secrets of how he keeps succeeding as an artist he said the social media has really helped him reach the top and aside being an artist he works on the internet to earn some money.
“I’m earning money from a variety of sources that many musicians are unaware of.”
“Even before I started blowing, I was sharing my music. The internet has a lot of resources.”
