Self acclaimed landlord of rappers in Ghana and Africa, Sarkodie, has disclosed he almost rejected Bob Marley’s ‘Stir It Up’ remix feature proposal from Bob Marley’s team.
Explaining himself on a popular podcast show +44 with host Sideman, the rapper said he felt he did not deserve to have his voice added to the legend’s timeless song.
“When I got the email, I almost sent it because, aside from respect for the great, I felt unworthy of sharing the song with him. I was pretty severe on myself.”
“My manager was saying this is a tremendous opportunity while I was considering abandoning the project.”
“However, my creative side was more focused on the opportunity than the work.”
“When I was listening to Bob Marley singing it was a really spiritual experience.”
The remix of the song was released today, Friday, January 20, 2023 and music lovers can’t keep calm about it.
The song is available on all music streaming platforms.
