Renowned Ghanaian music producer, Appiah Darkwah (Appietus) has showered praises on veteran highlife artist, Daddy Lumba for inspiring for him to be better when he started his music producing career.
Speaking on Pure FM, Appietus revealed the celebrated highlife singer made a huge investment for a service he (Appietus) offered to Lumba and that urged him to channel his focus on music production.
“Daddy Lumba was the first artiste to give me a substantial amount of money in my career. He came to the studio and we had a discussion, afterwards, he went out and brought a jute bag saying he had brought me drinks.”
"I carried the bag home without checking its contents. The following day, my wife asked me if I won’t send the money to the bank so I got confused.”
"Then she told me the bag I brought was filled with cash. You know when we started it wasn’t about the money but rather it was about the talent."
Appietus made these comments after Lumba was bashed for allegedly scamming gospel musician Great Ampong when they jointly worked on an album in 2015.
