Don’t see networking as flattery - Stonebwoy tells his colleagues

Dancehall artist Stonebwoy who is affectionately called 1GAD during an interview with Ghanaian broadcaster Berla Mundi advised his fellow musicians to stop looking at networking as flattery.

According to 1GAD, despite networking being expensive everyone needs to put in more efforts in order to have the anticipated results.

"It didn’t take me two minutes, and I didn’t just fly to New York to get into the studio. I’ve been working behind the scenes over the years, preparing for opportunities. Being prepared, when the opportunity arrives it makes you over qualified.”

"Continue working while they look else where, and by the time they get to you, you’ll be over qualified. And get to where you want to be within a twinkle of an eye.”

"Stonebwoy has being opening doors. Networking is expensive, and it’s not cheap no matter the level . You have to put in more resources.

“Whatever the resources maybe, it is still expensive. But you need change your mindset about certain things when it comes to networking.”

“In Ghana people will say ‘oye aho shi sh3’ but it’s called networking. And this helps you to grow through the people you get connected to.
