Ghanaian talents lack vision, want things done overnight and controlled by their egos – Jay Foley

Ghanaian radio and television personality Jay Foley has disclosed why stopping managing artists due to the shortsightedness, trust, ego, etc of these artists.

In an interview with Joy FM’s George Quaye, Jay gave more details on why he stopped grooming young lads who have great talents even though the passion to do that was still available.

“I have been let down with lack of vision, trust, ego of many artists.”

According to Jay, many of them (artists) want to achieve things that will take years to have within 24 hours and that is impossible to achieve that.

Talking about trust issues between artists and managers he said;

“It is important for artists to get a fair idea of how things work in the music industry. When it comes to business procedures, companies hire specialists to work for them because they trust these professionals.”

Jay insisted “Trust is essential.” and also these artists are “shortsighted.”

Concluding he said;

“I have a lot of knowledge and experience that these artist don’t have yet.”

“I have also learned that managing artists is all about managing people who produce things that takes a while to get the desired outcome.”

“Attaining what you desire within a short period of time is nearly impossible.”
