The boss of Highly Spiritual Music record label Kaywa talks about the less talked about hypocrisy of the church.
In a recent interview with one of Takoradi’s based radio station, Connect FM, Kaywa said it is hypocritical for the church to turn their back on secular musicians while openly accepting people in other secular professions.
Even though he is an ordained man of God who works as a sound engineer with his record label, he faces series of challenges due to the path he has chosen and he seems not too happy with the hypocrisy that comes from the church.
“I may contrast my position with that of a doctor, nurse, a politician, or maybe a lawyer. But I wouldn’t describe my current situation as difficult.”
“You can decide to do secular music, you will not be welcomed into the church. But choose other secular professions like medicine will be given a front-row seat.”
“A lawyer represents a thief in court, and the church welcomes him. The church chooses not to love songs recorded made by musicians. That’s unfair.”
"The gospel ministry does not conflict with my love for my work. So it not wrong to carry out God’s work by helping others in their musical careers.”
