English actor Idris Elba says he will be happy to see Ghana invest in creative arts education.
The actor has urged the government of Ghana to build a film studio in Ghana in order to educate people who want to venture into acting and film making.
Speaking in an interview with Kumasi based radio station Opimsoɔ FM, Idris insisted it is important people in the creative arts industry get educated.
“Part of the plan that we have, which is building a studio, is the policy. Policy comes from the government and it makes sure people can find their way to industrialize film making.”
“Education is key. Young people must get educated.”
“It is necessary that if you want to be an actor, cameraman, a storyteller, you have to go to school. School is a good entry point.” he said.
“So what we are hoping to do apart from our film initiative is to boost the education process.”
