Deputy Minister for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Hon. Mark Okraku Mantey claims Akan is one the of the weakest languages when it comes to music.
According to Hon. Mark, Akan lacks some language elements to compete other languages.
Explaining his statement, he said Akans have found an easy way to promote their language. And through their efforts, people perceive that they(Akans) are the only tribe who produce great music.
“In my perspective the Akan language is the weakest. Somebody can differ. The Akan language is the weakest when it comes to music.
“Unfortunately, the Akan people have pushed harder so much that it sounds like they are the ones who could make the best music and that is not true.”
In order to overcome Akan music, Hon. Mark suggested that the Gas, Notherners and Volta can do better to make their language more attractive to music lovers.
