DJ Azonto has expressed his displeasure about been given one slot for the six categories he filed for.
The organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMA) last Saturday, March 18, 2023 announced the selected nominees for the various categories.
Speaking on Property Radio's entertainment show he said;
“I filed for ‘Artiste of the Year’, ‘Best Songwriter’, ‘New Artiste of the Year’, ‘Vodafone Most Popular Song of the Year’,‘Hiplife Song of the Year’, and ‘Best Afropop Song’.”
After the nominees were announced, DJ Azonto was given a slot out of the six categories he applied for.
He is not only artist who has publicly shared his displeasure about how things were concluded in choosing nominees for the various categories.
DJ Azonto was was named among other nominees in the ‘Best New Artist of the Year’ category.
Revealing a funny incident that happened before filing for his preferred categories he said;
"When I sat with my management to inform them about the need to file for VGMA ‘Best Songwriter’ they all laughed at me.”
