The Musicians Union of Ghana (MUSIGA) has cautioned veteran highlife musician Gyedu Blay Ambolley and ace broadcaster Kofi Otchere-Darko (KOD) to draw their curtains on the controversy about highlife music.
The acting president of MUSIGA Bessa Simons through a press statement, has urged music lovers to stop adding their voices to the ongoing feud.
In the press statement, Bessa Simons explained that KOD and Ambolley are all ‘’passionate about the growth, development and preservation of highlife music.”
It is believed the organizers of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) have “good intentions for the Ghanaian music industry in general, and highlife music in particular.”
In the press statement, Bessa Simons disclosed;
“The National Folklore Board has applied to the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO) for the highlife genre to be listed as part of country’s Intangible Cultural Heritage (ICH).”
