Nigerian singer, Davido has disclosed in a recent interview his country will for the first time be hosting Afro Nation Festival.
“Afro Nation is going to Lagos for the first time, so that is gonna be fire.” Davido said.
Months ago, the CEO of Ghana Tourism Authority, Akwasi Agyemang revealed other African countries have expressed interest about hosting Afro Nation and Afro Future(Afrochella).
“Other countries are pushing. I mean I know, Ruddy, talk to the Afrochella guys and Little Havana. People have approached them. Countries have approached them to bring the events to them.”
Even though the management of Afro Nation signed a 5- year deal with the government of Ghana after the first edition was held in December 2019, the event took a long break as a result of the covid--19 pandemic and resumed last year December.
Afro Nation organizers are yet to make an official announcement about Nigeria’s edition of the event, Ghanaians are already worried about how the absence of the event may affect the country’s December ‘atmosphere’.
Apart from Ghana other countries like U.S, Mexico, Portugal, and Puerto Rico host Afro Nation at it scheduled times.
