Highlife and Afrobeats artist, Kuami Eugene, has given a response to his critics regarding his fashion sense.
Off late, Kuami Eugene has been receiving some backlash from music lovers and some fans who think the singer lacks ‘taste’ in his fashion choices.
Kuami in a recent interview with Delay explained why he dresses in a way people seem not to understand.
“I will say some of the things that I do to for examples the Rags to Riches look was intentional because I’m coming out with an album titled Rags To Riches that speaks about me from the slums where I came from to me being the Kuami Eugene I am today so one of me was representing the streets and one part representing the riches that’s how come I was a clean and rugged outfit.”
According to Kuami Eugene getting people talk about his fashion sense is a plus to him because it forms part of showbiz.
“I know how to dress, I’m an Akyem man. My fashion sense is not to impress others. It’s showbiz, sometimes getting people to talk is part of it.”
He continued to say, these same fans criticized and mocked his colleague Kidi for dressing in an old fashioned way so if one thinks about their actions it does not make any sense.
“The same people criticizing me were also laughing at Kidi that he’s gone to wear ‘Tunabu’ so you can’t really put their thinking a bracket.”
