I never felt disappointed for missing out on the ‘Artist of the Year’ award – Piesie Esther

  


Reigning gospel artist of the year, Piesie Esther says she never felt disappointed after the artist of the year award was handed over to Black Sherif.


The singer expressed her excitement for gaining enough recognition through the nomination slots she bagged in other categories.


“I was not disappointed at all for not winning the artist of the year.”


“In fact, I was thinking I could also win but if I didn’t win and Blacko won that’s also fine because he has also worked for it. It was in my mind that if I win fine but if another person won it’s fine.” 


For the first time, she took home two awards that is the gospel artist of the year and best gospel song of the year awards after 20 years in her music career.


“This is my first time winning awards at the VGMA, I have been nominated in the past but I did not win so I was happy for winning this time.” She said.
