Ghana’s music lacks quality - Kofi Boachie-Ansah

Ghanaian record producer and creative entrepreneur, Kofi Boachie-Ansah, says Ghanaian music lacks quality if compared to other countries' music.

According to Boachie-Ansah, low quality Ghanaian music has hindered the growth of the music industry when it comes the country's musical culture.

He made these comments at the third National Music Summit organized by Vodafone Ghana Music Awards(VGMA) to celebrate World Music Day.

“There is a general lack of quality when comparing the music we produce to that from our neighbours in terms of poor production quality." He said.

"The overall technical and artistic quality of our music must be intentional.”He added.

He continued to say that most music producers find it difficult to source out the right mixes for their clients.

He also urged Ghanaian musicians to pursue other genres to get speed up their musical growth instead of sticking to one.
