Ghanaian reggae dancehall artist believes when Ghanaian artists invest in proper documentation of the sounds and videos there will be massive growth within the music industry.
Speaking on Joy Prime, Epixode revealed that international artists often sample Ghanaian music because their record-keeping of songs over the years has not been adequate.
“They sample our songs every time. Like recently I heard a chronic on a Rock Stone’s rhythm, and I was like, Really?”
"But we don’t have room to keep these catalogs to also help the next generation know that this is what makes our sound well, we’re getting there if we document it well.”
“I look at the longevity of my craft and who I want to be, and I’ve come to the realization that it will get to a time when highlife will rule. It’s the sound of the future."
According to Epixode, documenting musical catalogs will help future generations understand the roots and uniqueness of Ghanaian music.
